Club Page Welcome to the home of Doddinghurst Olympic
Football Club. The Essex village of Doddinghurst is situated about four
miles north of Brentwood and football has been alive and kicking in the
village for many years. Early records dating back to 1947 show the existence
of two rival village teams, the first playing on land known as 'Parkwood',
the second playing opposite the village Post Office. By 1952 a youth team
had been formed and this played in the Romford League, under the title
'Doddinghurst Rovers'. By 1962 the team had moved to the Pope and Smith
League, playing under the name of 'Doddinghurst Youth', on a pitch at
the rear of the Village Hall. In 1978 Doddinghurst Olympic Football Club
was born, initially as a senior side, but by 1983 included a further nine
youth teams.
Today, Doddinghurst Olympic Football Club consists of two senior sides,
ten youth teams and a flourishing soccer school. All of our teams are
affiliated to the Essex County Football Association and we remain at
our home ground - The Village Hall Playing Fields. In total, we provide
facilities and the opportunity, for children between the ages of four
and fourteen to play in our club colours of green and yellow. This
season, we have added a further senior side in addition to our successful
Sunday team. This team will play on Saturday afternoons and have entered
the Essex Business Houses League.
We are attempting to play an ever increasing role in our local community.
In doing so, sponsorship plays an important role in helping to ensure
the financial viability of this club and we are grateful for the assistance
provided by our sponsors. if you, your company or employer would like
