Kelvedon hatch Reds
Review Body
The points were secured by the visitors but the plaudits went to Doddinghurst in this hard-fought local derby.Doddinghurst went into the game on the back of two heavy defeats while Kelvedon were fresh from rattling up 18 goals in their previous match.
But despite going behind in the first minute,Doddinghurst matched their rivals in the first half with superb defensive performances throughout the team epitomised by Daniel Redfern, who carried on despite a nasty foot injury.
Two nil up at the break,Kelvedon extended their lead to 4-0 before Jack Smith pulled a goal back for the home team with a long range free kick.
A further goal put paid to any thought of a comeback but Doddinghursts best performance of the season sets them up nicely for their next game in a fortnights time when they will hope to put their first points on the board
