In the first half Doddinghurst played well below their best and struggled to get into the game, despite tireless running from Kai Gilbrook and Alfie Cerulli coming close twice. At half time only some good work at the back from Tom Richards and Max Citroen had kept the score down to a one nil deficit.
Shortly after the restart Doddinghurst leveled the score after a goal mouth scramble, Alfie Cerulli prodding the ball home. With ten minutes remaining Cougars went into the lead with a fine goal after a quick attack. Doddinghurst were now playing more to form and with continued good work from Ed Peace in goal and Frankie Day in midfield, Doddinghurst pushed forward and were unlucky not to draw level with Alfie Baldry hitting the crossbar twice with excellent long range shots. Doddinghurst kept at it, putting together a series of excellent passing moves from William Stroud and Oscar Pace and with just a minute to go Alfie Cerulli scored the equaliser with a good finish from inside the six yard box. Overall a well contested match by both teams.
