Doddinghurst started the match well and took the lead in the 1st Minute through Alfie Baldry with a neat finish after good work down the wing fom Alfie Cerulli. Doddinghurst controlled the game with Tom Richards and Kai Chalkley pushing the team forward helping Doddinghurst keep Writtle under constant pressure, whilst Harry Moncur and William Stroud on the wings for Doddinghurst caused Writtle problems with every attack, eventually helping Alfie Cerulli score Doddinghurst's 2nd goal just before half time, Ed Peace in goal for Doddinghurst pulled off a outstanding save to end the half 2 nil to Doddinghurst. The 2nd half Doddinghurst carried on as they started the 1st, putting Writtle under pressure with Kai Gilbrook and Oscar Pace pushing forward forcing some great saves from the Writtle Keeper. Writtle broke forward on a few occasions but could not find a way through past Frankie Day and Max Citroen who held firm. Both teams played the game in good spirit and in difficult conditions.
